Which Part of Greater Manchester Are You Looking In?

This guide uses two practical clusters rather than pretending Greater Manchester is one neighbourhood. The split is for navigation only and is not a formal administrative division.

Manchester, South & West

Major Muslim Community Hubs in Manchester & the South/West.

Manchester city and the southern side of the conurbation include large mosques, structured Quran schools, youth programmes and multi-purpose community centres. Census 2021 recorded 22.3% of Manchester residents as Muslim; that figure is for Manchester local authority, not Greater Manchester as a whole.

Manchester Central Mosque is a major Victoria Park community hub. Its current site confirms dedicated Madrasa contact, Nikkah and 24-hour funeral routes. The homepage still displays a 2025/26 enrolment notice, so this guide does not present that notice as current 2026/27 admissions.

Current Events Change Faster Than Permanent Resource Pages.

For camps, youth nights, workshops, Qur'an events and temporary programmes, use current event feeds rather than relying on an old article.

Cheadle Masjid — live events calendar

Cheadle Masjid's current October 2026 calendar includes youth, sisters, Quran, revert and family activity. Because availability changes quickly, use the live calendar rather than copying an old event list.

Online Quran Option

Greater Manchester Travel Can Still Add Up. One-to-One Online Learning Is Another Option.

Local mosques and madrasas remain valuable for community connection. For families who mainly need individual Quran correction, flexible timing or less travel between boroughs, Midad Quran Academy also provides live one-to-one online learning.

Families can use three free trial classes before payment to understand the learner's starting level, experience the teaching and decide whether the format fits.

We used ONS Census 2021 for local-authority religion context, current council support pages and original mosque/community websites. We do not combine separate borough percentages into a made-up Greater Manchester Muslim share, and we omit stale or conflicting programme details.
